Our Board

The Beechworth Community Early Years Learning Centre Board is a dedicated group that brings a high level of professional oversight to the service, ensuring strong, strategic governance and operational stability.

The Board sets the long-term direction of the service and ensures we meet all responsibilities as the Approved Provider under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. In addition to maintaining compliance and accountability, the Board works closely with our leadership team to support continuous improvement and to ensure our service philosophy, policies, and practices reflect the needs of our children, educators, and families.

This is not a parent committee — our service is governed by a skills-based Board of Directors, composed of local professionals with extensive expertise in:

  • Governance and strategic leadership

  • Understanding of board responsibilities under the Education and Care Services National Law

  • Risk management, accountability and compliance

  • Finance and accounting

  • Early childhood education and care expertise

  • Understanding of National Quality Standards and National Quality Framework

  • Legal and regulatory compliance

  • Town Planning

  • Human resources and industrial relations

  • Community engagement and communication

  • Fundraising and grants

  • Project management

New board members are appointed in accordance with skills gaps to ensure a broad range of skills are maintained at all times.
