An update to our families

We appreciate the sense of uncertainty this whole process had brought to you and your family, and want to make sure you are fully informed. We will always share you what we know, and any plans that impact you.

As an organisation, we are committed to exploring every option to ensure the continuation of our service. Our strong preference is to remain operating in our current facility, and we are actively pursuing several pathways to make this happen.

The site we currently share with Beechworth Kindergarten was purpose-built for both organisations in 1997, with support from State and Federal Government funding and the incredible fundraising efforts of the Beechworth community. We remain hopeful that both services will continue to operate on this site, serving our community well into the future. We look forward to working with Beechworth Kindergarten and Indigo Shire Council to achieve this outcome.

At the same time, we are also working closely with the Council to understand what a transition to a new service provider might look like, if that becomes the eventual outcome. While this is not our preferred option, we feel it’s important to plan thoughtfully and responsibly.

If it becomes clear that we are unable to continue operating at our current site and Alpine Children’s Services (ACS) becomes the provider from January 2026, we will be in touch with all current and waitlisted families. Should this occur, we would support families in transferring their information to ACS, if they choose.

Please note: no decisions have been made at this time, and no contracts have been signed. Many discussions are still ongoing, and we remain committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.

We kindly ask that families avoid contacting ACS directly, as this may create confusion around waitlists and service planning. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us directly—we are always here to talk.
